Balcony Waterproofing

What is included

A balcony is the single most common entry point for water into an apartment building. We strip and replace failed waterproofing layers with a compliant membrane system, install new drainage scuppers and overflows, protect the slab, and apply a traffic-rated finish that suits how you actually use the space.

We work inside occupied apartments with minimal disruption — protection down, clean down daily, and no drilling into structural waterproofing layers.

Our scope of work

  • Removal of failed tiles, screed and old membrane
  • Slab repair, crack treatment and levelling
  • Two-coat liquid-applied waterproof membrane
  • New or replaced drainage scuppers and overflows
  • Threshold and door junction sealing
  • Tiling or traffic-rated protective coating

When you need it

  • Water tracking into ceilings below
  • Ponding water on tiled decks
  • Body corpora and strata rectification work
  • Pre-purchase and pre-listing inspections

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we are asked most often across Sydney.

How much does balcony waterproofing cost?

from $145/m² is our starting price for a standard balcony waterproofing job in metropolitan Sydney. Final pricing depends on the size of the area, the condition of the substrate, access and whether any tile or substrate repair is required. We confirm a fixed, itemised price before work begins — never an hourly estimate that grows.

How long does balcony waterproofing take?

Expect 3–7 days depending on area. Most jobs of this type are completed in a single visit by a licensed tradesman, with the area protected, cleaned and left ready for use. Larger works such as balcony rectification may take several days depending on access and the extent of tile removal.

Is balcony waterproofing covered by a warranty?

Yes. This service carries a written 15 years warranty, issued with a photographic record of the installation. The certificate covers both labour and materials for the waterproofing work we performed. If anything we installed fails inside the warranty period we return and rectify it at no charge.

Do you need access to the property first?

Not to give you a price. Send photos of the affected area through our quote form and we will come back with a fixed price, usually within the hour. We only attend the property for a formal inspection when the photographs are inconclusive or when a certificate is required by your body corp, insurer or tiler.
